FNF receives thousands of requests for help and support every year.

It’s very clear to us that being apart from children can be stressful and distressing for ‘whole’ families.

That’s why we’ve developed our support workshops.  Parents (and their wider family, grandparents and new partners) can meet up, share experiences and learn from others in similar situations.  Feedback is always very positive...and we have a few laughs too!

The workshops are run by parents for parents, those with direct experience of what it’s like when families split up.

Forget any thoughts that this is about ‘training’ anyone to be a good parent...

Whether separated or not, both parents still matter! These workshop days reinforce the importance for children of keeping both parents and the wider family involved. We aim to provide positive opportunities for families to feel supported, listened to and understood.

Many people at the workshops comment that they cannot talk about how they feel even to friends or family, because they don't really understand. But those at the workshops do. Together, we can learn something positive from each other, maybe an insight into a small change to make, a new strategy to try.

Separation is a long and unpredictable journey: you don’t have to travel alone.

Our workshops are informal and friendly.

    Take a positive step forward!

Check the Workshops calendar regularly for locations and dates. More workshops will be added soon.

And if you are interested in becoming a workshop facilitator, why not join our dedicated team? You don't need to be an 'expert': if you've got the 'separated family' T-shirt, are able to empathise with others in a similar situation, plus have some time to spare, we'd love to hear from you.
